I was reading online earlier and I came across an interesting !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Now that the big press is heralding the M235i's arrival, I wonder what is the more legit car? Would you go for the 335 M-Sport Package, which is a largely aesthetic options package consisting of a body kit and sport suspension (among other little items). Even though I have a 328i M Sport, I consider the car a known fake M, as no engine mods come with the body kit.

Kinja'd!!!

Or would you go for the M235i which is a more intensive transformation of the car, but is not considered a real M car? Which would you buy? The known fake (MSport) vs. the imposter (M235i)

I am genuinely curious. The new !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is quite the looker, however is nearly as heavy as the larger !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

I think the 2 looks a lot better than the 3 (sorry), and it's smaller so most likely easier to throw around.

"The new 2 is quite the looker, however is nearly as heavy as the larger 3 ."

That is the most important thing.

I was very excited about the 2. I also love how it looks. And I like the shorter wheelbase.

Then I recently learned that it was nearly as heavy as the 3. My mind became full of wut.

I don't understand why the 2 is so heavy. It's supposed to be the smaller, cheaper and lighter car. Couldn't they give up some luxury to make it lighter? Use less sound deadening maybe? And thinner carpets. Anything to cut down on weights without having to use exotic materials, which would drive the price up.

Is BMW still using more steel than it should? At their price points they should be able to use a lot of aluminum, right?

It's what is under the hood that makes the difference in a performance mark. So by that logic I gotta say M235i.

That being said, I gotta wonder how these "Lesser" models stack up to the previous higher end versions. I've seen comparisons of the new M versus the old M, and the new M versus it's rivals. But I can't think that I've seen an old M versus a new false M.

I can only think that with new technology and the power creep that's been going on, the older M cars might have a hard time against even the more tame base models.

And this isn't just for BMW either, audi, mercedes, everyone.

Could the W201 2.3-16 hold up against even a base C250. Could an E36 M3 hold up against a modern 328 or 335
